What is FoLix?

FoLix is the first FDA-cleared fractional laser for hair loss, harnessing the power of hair laser technology to rejuvenate your scalp and stimulate hair follicles.

In studies led by industry experts, patients who underwent hair loss treatment with FoLix showed:

  • An increase in hair count
  • An increase in follicular units per square centimeter
  • Noticeable improvement in scalp hair appearance Trusetd Source Checkbox Trusted Source FoLix Lumenis Go to Source

How Does FoLix Work?

Here’s how FoLix works:

  1. Targeted Laser Energy: FoLix uses a special laser that sends focused energy deep into the skin. This process, known as dermal coagulation, gently heats the skin without damaging the surface.
  2. Natural Healing Activation: The warmth from the laser triggers your body’s natural healing processes. This is a crucial step as it helps to repair and revitalize the skin from within.
  3. Enhanced Blood Flow and Nutrient Delivery: As part of the healing process, the treatment increases blood flow to the treated area. Better blood circulation means more oxygen and nutrients are delivered, which is essential for healthy skin and hair follicles.
  4. Stimulation of Hair Follicles: By boosting cytokine activity—a key part of cellular communication—FoLix stimulates the hair follicles, encouraging new hair growth and improving the health of existing hair.

FoLix Treatment: What to Expect

The first step in your FoLix treatment experience is a consultation with one of our experienced providers, where you will be evaluated to determine whether you are a good candidate for FoLix.

FoLix treatment is fast and comfortable: the entire treatment takes only about 30 minutes, and no anesthesia is required. During treatment, you will wear protective glasses and recline as the FoLix handpiece is passed over your scalp.

After FoLix, no downtime is needed: many of our patients come in for treatment during their lunch break and immediately return to work. Unlike some other hair loss treatments, FoLix doesn’t require any aftercare.
