How Does Botox Work?
Lines and wrinkles are caused by a number of factors, including repetitive muscle movement. Botox® is injected into the facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles. Once injected, Botox® temporarily reduces the contractions of the underlying muscles so lines and wrinkles are diminished and skin has a smoother appearance.

What is the Botox Treatment Like?
Many of our first time Botox® Cosmetic patients are concerned about the level of pain with treatment. The injections with Botox® are very mild and feel like a small pinch. No numbing is needed, and the treatment itself is quick. However, we can provide a topical numbing cream upon request.
The number and exact location of your injections will depend on your treatment goals. A Botox® treatment typically takes less than 30 minutes to perform, which is why it is sometimes called a “lunch-time” cosmetic treatment.
Is There Any Downtime After Botox?
There is no downtime or recovery period required after the Botox® treatment. Patients can come in, get treated with Botox®, and return to their normal activities the same day. You may notice some minor swelling, redness, or bruising in the treatment area due to the injections, but these effects typically fade within a day or two of treatment.
When Will I See Results from My Botox Treatment?
After the Botox® treatment, it usually takes 7 to 14 days for the formula to take effect and the results to become visible. If you are receiving Botox® for hyperhidrosis, it may take a few weeks to notice the full effects. In any case, the results from Botox® typically last about three to four months.
